Elta Fans Asia Educates on Clean Air Day

01/07/19

In support of Clean Air Day 2019, Elta Fans Asia worked with years 1 to 9 at a local school in Malaysia to educate and raise awareness of air pollution.

During the course of the day, the school took part in numerous fun activities designed to encourage the pupils to think about how air pollution affects them and the wider world – creating posters, writing poems, composing songs and performing short plays around the theme of air pollution.

We are pleased that the day was a success – so much so that Elta Fans Asia has been invited to give a talk to their secondary school students later in the month!

Air pollution impacts us all, from our first breath until our last. It is identified as one of the most important issues of our time, causing 1 in 9 deaths globally and an estimated 7 million premature deaths every year. With a massive 9 out of 10 people breathing in polluted air, it is clear that air pollution is one of the largest environmental risks in the world, affecting our health and the health of the planet as a whole. It is also clear that it is all of our responsibilities to make changes and do what we can to protect ourselves and our world.

But, it’s not all doom and gloom though! It is great to see how engaged the children were, how passionate they are about protecting the environment, and their potential for the future. Education is a major focus for Elta Group, and we work closely with communities and the younger generations to raise awareness of issues surrounding air pollution, and ultimately support them with changes and initiatives to improve air quality. This is key in our drive to improve air quality, reduce the environmental impact of all of our activities, and ultimately enhancing life through air.
